Visited the Maryland Zoo again, this time not in like 95ยบ weather.

The arctic fox was a lot more friendly and active this time. Probably because it wasn't so hot.

I've never seen them just floating around before.

The chimps were being very vocal while we were there. The dominant male was obviously showing everyone else their place. Here the two chimps were grooming each other or something. Looked like they were kissing, it was cute.

Central Park Zoo

It was a bit of a difficult choice between the Central Park Zoo and the Bronx Zoo, but in the end, I had to meet a friend in the city anyways.

The zoo is small, but I like it a lot. It's more like a garden than a zoo and it's got some interesting animals.

Here's a little guy building a nest inside the bird house.

Having a bit of a hard time climbing the rocks.

Looking fuzzy.

The little one was playing with a piece of plastic that had found its way into their house.

I love these snow monkeys, very entertaining people.

Philly Zoo

I visited the Philadelphia Zoo a couple of weeks ago. Maybe I was too excited about it, but it ended up being kind of anticlimactic. I thought it was more carnival than zoo.. There were too many snack and face painting vendors and too little attention on the animals' enclosures. In fact, here is an example:

Not a great picture, but this red panda looked like it was sick or something. It could barely open its eyes, was unsteady while climbing, and had kind of a thinning tail. We were a little concerned..

These two tigers were playing with each other in the pool. Not a clear picture since it was shot through the wet glass, but it was pretty interesting.

Stuffed Friends

Went to the Smithsonian Natural History Museum today and saw the mammals exhibit for the first time. Not bad. It's like going to a zoo, except the animals don't hide from you..
