Wagu passed away yesterday at the ripe old age of 3 years old. Wagu, short for Wagner and named after Richard Wagner was the big sister of Nini (short for Friedrich Nietzsche). Yes, the sisters were both named after great men. She was a good little friend, and hung in there rather well after her sister died last summer. I will pack a lunch for her, and tomorrow she will join her little sister once again. Goodbye Wagu, we will miss you.

Shama seems to be doing okay since they moved her brother out, although she's still pacing back and forth near the window.

Here is the new male red panda, Tate, who is destined to be Shama's new boyfriend. They seem to be getting along pretty well for the most part, even though they still get into little scuffles over food.

Tate just kept eating the entire time, but Shama went to sleep..

Primates

One of the gorillas just had a baby a few weeks ago.

She was holding it pretty closely so it was hard to get a picture.

Here's one of the keepers playing a game with the daddy, the big silverback male.

Shama and Wicket

Wicket was said to be leaving soon so that the zoo could bring in a mate for Shama. Well Wicket is still there, but quarantined in a little enclosure behind the Small Mammals House. He looked lonely.

Wicket all alone on a rock..

Sleeping on his tail..

Stinky Wolf

First time that I've gotten a decent picture of the Maned Wolf. It's stinky because it smells like a skunk..

Big Cat!

What a big boy!

I think he was hungry or something, he kept roaring the entire time. It was loud.

Rawr~

Check out these big feets!

Big scratchpost.

Oh and here's another big cat. Afternoon yawn~
