Visited the Maryland Zoo again, this time not in like 95ยบ weather.
The arctic fox was a lot more friendly and active this time. Probably because it wasn't so hot.
I've never seen them just floating around before.
The chimps were being very vocal while we were there. The dominant male was obviously showing everyone else their place. Here the two chimps were grooming each other or something. Looked like they were kissing, it was cute.

The keeper seemed to be having fun. She would throw out a frisbee or a stick and the sea lion would fetch, and be rewarded with a little fish. No picture, but the sea lion would actually toss the little fish snack around a bit first and then eat it.

I went to the Maryland Zoo in Baltimore, MD last weekend with the FONZ photo club and met some new friends. The Maryland Zoo, while smaller and with less variety than the National Zoo, was still pretty interesting as they have a very nice African safari setup there.
Some of the more popular animals there were the elephants because of the new baby, Samson, who is around 3 months old or so.
Being that young, Samson still follows his mom around.
Of course, being that young, Samson is also very curious. Here the keeper had put a bucket of stuff just beyond the barrier and he just had to find out what was in it.
While working with the keepers, I got the impression that Samson felt very accomplished here.
"i is in a tire and has a stik!"
Here, I got the impression that the keepers felt very accomplished. For what? I does not know.

Computer's more or less fixed now, so I can finally upload some photos from last weekend. Here are two of the volunteers I met who were showing everyone two of the goats.
I also saw this keeper feeding and checking on the hippo and pygmy hippo. They seemed to like her too.
